Dean has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry working with domestic and international companies. He has held significant investment management, operational, project management, line management, service, advisory, development and strategy roles across the energy value chain.
Dean has previously held senior management and wholesale trading positions with Tarong Energy, NRG Asia Pacific, NRG Flinders and ETSA Generation Corporation. He has successfully led the negotiation of off-take contracts underwriting new power projects, and other wholesale electricity sector derivative and PPA contracts. Dean has also been responsible for establishing energy trading functions, teams and systems.
Dean also has extensive experience in energy retailing and has advised multiple new entrants in relation to energy procurement, risk management strategies and models, market entry strategy, business cases and prudential requirements. He has also acted as an expert witness in relation to new entrant energy retailing on behalf of the ACCC.
